Baby Shower in Ohio!

I went to Ohio this past week. Our families threw a baby shower for us. Paxton's room is being done in owls, so it has a real earthy feel. I thought the same should carry over to the baby shower.  A handmade baby shower is what I had. It turned out absolutely fabulous! I could not have asked for a better shower...except maybe some sun :-) Since I flew to Ohio transportation was an issue. What better idea than having a gift card shower? It was awesome! The love and support from family and friends was incredible! We couldn't be more blessed! Check out these pictures of the shower!

Granny fluffing pom-poms. She did such a good job!
Cakes mom made. Love the color!
 The set up!
Gift table. Josh's mom found the banner and it had zebras on it. With a little work, we put some owls on it.
Table center pieces. I'm not artsy at all and I painted those owls.  Clearly not my sister's work. Don't look too close...there were Valentine's day sayings on their little bellies.
Owls on the walk way.  Taylor painted these. Can you see how much better they are?
Loved using mom's cricut for this!
The guest book. Taylor painted the tree and everyone signed in by making a leaf out of a finger print.
The table all set up with food! Yummy!!
The chandelier mom worked so hard on!
How cute are those veggie cups?
Owl cupcakes made by Amanda and Victoria. They were so good!
Owl pops mom and I made. These were almost the death of us. The lady on youtube made them look so much easier! But hey, they were still good. I got to eat a lot of mistakes :)
Four generations!!  My mom, Taylor, me and Paxton, and my granny.
The cake had a surprise of my granny's strawberry rhubarb jelly. Everyone loved it!
Tammy won the string game! That's what happens when she gives so many hugs....she knows just how big I am!

It was such a wonderful time! I was tired after it, but the day was perfect! Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to put it together!

Paxton's Room is Still in Progress

Here is a sneak peek of Paxton's room so far. It's still a work in progress, but things are moving along nicely.
I got my maternity pictures taken yesterday. Here is a sneak peek of one from Farrah Nicole Photography. I can't wait to see the rest of them! Josh and I had such a fun time taking them. Can't believe I'm 34 weeks! Time goes by so fast!

New Year

It's hard to believe it is 2012. It seems as the years go by the years tend to get faster. I remember wishing time would speed up so I could "get on with my life". It's funny how that changes when you get just a few years older. Now, I find myself asking, "where has the week gone?" or, "wait, it's already January?" It is really amazing how my perspective has changed in just a few years.

With it being the start of the new year, there is a lot of talk about resolutions, changes that need to be made.... You know how the stories go. I wish this perspective wasn't just on January 1st. What if when we realized we needed to change something--we just did. There was not any waiting for a new year to come along. I'm just as guilty as anyone in this. I often wait to make changes because of the impact it might have on my life..... I may have to give something up or do something I'm not really comfortable with.

This year is going to bring a ton of change! I'm going to be a mother. Talk about perspective change. Josh and I's life is about to change in the blink of an eye. Not next year, but this year. Life as I know it is going to change. No waiting around for this one. We're so excited, nervous, honored....you name it we've probably felt it.

This year, won't you make the changes you need to make when you realize it? What if tomorrow doesn't come? Make the changes you need to...even when it's hard...even when it makes you different than others. Think different this year. Make this your best year yet!!
