Two Little Feet

Paxton is absolutely fascinated with his hands. Ever since he was just a week old he would always being them to his face, hold on to the other one, and just move them around. Of course now he just wants to suck on them....especially his little cute thumb.

Today not only did he pay attention to his hands, but he found his feet. He keeps rubbing them together, pushing them on things, and kicking his legs all over. I think they may be. Little ticklish.

He doesn't hold his feet still for very long. I think he's figuring out that of he slams his feet on the ground it will make noise. It's incredible to watch a baby develop right before your eyes.

I am completely blown away at God's greatness. The complexity of a human being, in my opinion, can only point to God. Medically Paxton should not be here. Our amazing God obviously had other plans. What a great God we serve!

Water Day!

Summer is here and it sure is getting warm! Since it was warm, it was time for Paxton to take a leap into the pool for the first time ever! I was excited about it! I'm sure he was too ;-)

Before we could take a dip, we needed to get prepared. First, I got the pool filled. Paxton's granny got him the pool for Easter.
After we got the pool filled, and the water warmed up a little, we had to get Paxton ready!

Since Paxton wears cloth diapers, we had to figure out what kind of bottoms for him to wear. I was researching it and read on Cotton Babies that a BumGenius 4.0 can double as a swim diaper. All you have to do is take out the insert. I was pretty skeptical, I should probably add. But, we gave it a try!

At first, he was really unsure of what to think! After he got really upset, Josh suggested I turn him towards me so he could see me. Then, he loved the water!

He is just the sweetest thing! He is growing up so fast I can hardly believe it! He's 3 1/2 months already!!

Ok, back to his diaper! I was unsure of how good this would work. I should have known Paxton would put it to test!
This is his pooping face! And boy did he go! How did the diapers do? Wonderful! No leaks! Let me tell you, he sure filled it too!
The BumGenius diapers definitely worked good! I must say they're my favorite! They were before, but now even more!

Around the corner

You know one of the coolest things about moving back close to family? I can put Paxton in his stroller and just buzz up to my grandparents.... His great grandparents.

Paxton loves his GG. I mean it's crazy! He takes one look at her and cheeses from ear to ear.

Tonight we went up to granny and pa's and played Phase 10. Paxton, of course, smiled at his GG the whole time.

We made it half way to their house and he passed out. He's the sweetest thing ever!!

Splish Splash

Paxton is so funny in bath time! He tries to escape from his bath seat into the water. He inches his way down and hangs his legs over the sides and kicks his feet in the water. I'm pretty sure he's going to love the water! he just giggles abs it's the sweetest thing!

Some dear friends of ours got Paxton a bath robe. Look how sweet :)

Cheap date

So Josh and I are on a new adventure. Not only have we moved over 600 miles this month, we also have family that want to watch Paxton while we have date night. Personally, I think they just want to watch Paxton.... What an excuse they give:-)

So last week we embarked on a new adventure of "cheap dates". Since I'm staying at home with Paxton and we are still trying to get out of school debt this is very necessary.

We decided to go to cici's. Not because we love it, but because it's cheap. We had fun though! There's just something about that macaroni and cheese pizza:-)

After that, we went to Starbucks. Ok, so that's not very cheap but what's a good date night without 'bucks?? We sat out in the sun and sipped on our lattes.

We went to the mall. Not to shop, but to browse. I got my wedding ring inspected and cleaned. That was free:$

This date cost us $18.54. Next time the goal is to get a lower cost and even more fun!!

I love putting Paxton in his jammies. He just looks so comfy. I know when I put my jammies on its like instant comfort and relaxation.

What else do I love about his pjs?? He just looks so stinkin cute!

Baby Smiles

What has happened recently with Paxton?
Baby smiles!! He's gotten so much more interactive, animated, and everything else! It is the sweetest thing to watch his little personality grow. In the morning he smiles so much. It just melts my heart.

He gets his arms flapping when he gets excited! Can you see them??

Going North

I've been in Georgia for five years. Granted, two of them I lived on campus at Toccoa Falls College.  Regardless, I've really fell in love with this place. Here's a list of the things Josh and I love about Georgia.

  • The weather...that's a no brainer
  • Friends who have become our family
  • Fellowship Church  Duh! We love this place and the people there!
  •  The waterfall on Toccoa Falls College Campus
  •  Hunting coyotes...obviously that is from Josh

  • The trails we can hike

  • Broken Bridges...we've watched the sun set here many times
  • Mt. Curahee...you can see forever! Here's a picture I took of my sister at the top

  • The curvy roads
  • Southern Hospitality
  • Sweet tea and grits
  • How everyone you pass on the road waves or strikes up a conversation
  • Mountains with the sunset behind them

We could go on and on. We love this place. But, the time has gone to move on. It's a bittersweet kinda thing. A whole lot of bitter. We have to say bye to our friends that have welcomed us into their family with open arms. We have to say good bye to the friends lives that have been changed. We have to  say bye to the people that we have impacted and that have impacted us.

But, it's sweet too. We're going back to family who we left years ago to live in the peachy state...AND we're taking back Paxton, our new addition. We are walking into a whole new mission field that we get to begin to tend.

We're going north. It's a whole lot of bitter and a whole lot of sweet.
